Introduction  |  Conditions for Joining the Tali Program
  |  Criteria for choosing school principals
A TALI school principal is obligated to the following:
Leading the process of formulating an identity that distinguishes the school as a TALI school.

Instructing the teachers on how to develop a school program that will achieve the Ministry's objectives and TALI's objectives, and meet the school's needs.

Developing a learning environment that reflects and promotes TALI values.

Promoting Jewish Studies curricula (formal and informal interdisciplinary studies).

Encouraging teachers to learn and develop as expert educators in the TALI spirit.

Developing a relationship with parents to create a supportive environment for the TALI program.

Being willing to learn and develop further as a TALI principal.

Encouraging teachers to learn more Jewish Studies.

Maintaining contact with TEF and utilizing its services.

Developing collegial relationships with other TALI principals and participating in programs arranged by the TALI Principals' Center.

Candidates to lead TALI schools are chosen according to the following criteria:
A.Personal skills The principal shall have a strong sense of connection to Jewish history and a commitment to promoting Jewish Studies in the spirit of TALI principles in the school.
The principal shall be community-oriented.
The principal shall be able to encourage a range of opinions in general, and in relation to Judaism in particular, while applying them in the day-to-day life of the school.

B. Education The principal shall have at least an undergraduate degree (for high school principals, a graduate degree is required), preferably in some area of Jewish Studies.

C. Commitment to Study The principal that is chosen must commit to study in the two-year TALI leadership course for principals at the Schechter Institute in Jerusalem.
