Parent-Child Workshops in TALI Schools, December 2004.

Introduction
Parent-Child workshops are designed to provide continuity between classroom studies and family experiential activities. The informal framework in which these workshops are held, engaging parents and children in joint activities, enriches participants in their Jewish heritage. The workshops are tailored to pupils' ages and their classroom curriculum.

Purpose
The Parent-Child workshops fulfill two major principles of TALI: conducting Jewish education through both classroom study and experience; and recognizing the important role of the community in this education. The workshops are a golden opportunity for pupils to share their Jewish learning with their parents.

Structure of Workshops
The workshops usually open with a staged presentation to introduce the topic, followed by creative activity and learning games. Workshop leaders employ a variety of methods to engage participants in a range of activity stations. Each workshop lasts 1½ to 2 hours, and is designed for up to 70 pupils and parents.
