The TALI Education Fund (TEF) is an Educational organization operated under the academic aegis of the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies, supported by Jews and Jewish communities around the world, and by the Israeli Ministry of Education.
TEF has as its objective the development, promotion, and enrichment of Jewish studies within the general Israeli Educational system in accord with the principles of TALI Education (see accompanying document), and in this desires to make its contribution to Israeli society.
In order to meet this objective, TEF:
1. Provides ongoing support and services to schools and kindergartens that identify with the principles of TALI education, and have created a serious working plan for their implementation.
2. Develops "Educational tracks" in the spirit of TALI principles beginning in kindergarten and continuing through high school.
3. Enriches the Judaic knowledge of TALI educators and develops in them skills for implementing TALI education.
4. Creates Educational materials makes them available to schools for the advancement and enrichment of pupils in the area of Judaic Studies.
5. Stimulates the interest of TALI teachers and pupils in their Jewish heritage in all its forms and expressions, and deepens their knowledge of it.
6. Nurtures the awareness of each TALI school community concerning the varieties of Jewish expression, and encourages the community to define its own Jewish identity and approach to Judaism.
7. Makes available to the general school system the cumulative knowledge, resources and experience of TEF in the area of Jewish studies.
